10/15/14 Today we talked about chapter 3-6 and its focus on standardized testing. Mike Rose makes the claim that standardized testing is biased and is not a true measure of intelligence. My group and I could not agree more. Some people are better testers than others, and some people are better at different types of tests. It is not a measure of how smart you are at all. Teachers have lost creativity, simply because there is no time for it. I think it's great that someone of such high educational standing, like Mike Rose has chosen to highlight this issue because it is most definitely something that needs to be addressed. I also think that this will be an important topic to include in our final presentation.
